UserAlertX: text alerts to your own phone
Your AI agent, bot or script texts you when a job finishes, fails or needs your approval. It can only text your own verified phone, so it is safe to hand to an agent.
Ways to send an alert
- From code: one HTTP request with your API key. See Send an alert from code (API).
- By email: anything sent to your alert address is texted to you. See Send an alert by email.
- From an AI agent: Claude, Grok, ChatGPT and others, through the UserAlertX connector. See Connect your AI agent.
- Example programs: ready-made scripts for Windows, Mac, Linux and Python on https://useralertx.com/examples.html.
- A test: the Send a text box on your account screen.
What the texts look like
UserAlertX: Nightly backup finished - no errors. Reply STOP to opt out
Every text starts with "UserAlertX:" and ends with how to opt out. The phone carriers require both.
Limits
10 alerts an hour and 50 a day per account, at least 3 seconds apart. Long messages still go through: a text can carry about 1,500 characters, sent as a few linked parts.
TipSend an alert when something changes, not "all OK" every few minutes. Carriers can filter the same text sent over and over as spam, even when you asked for it.
