What can't be sent by text
Phone carriers don't allow some topics in text messages at all, even an alert you send to yourself. They fine every message that breaks the rules and can shut down the numbers that send them, so UserToolX follows them strictly. All of these are fine by email.
Not allowed in a text
- Stocks, trading and investment tips
- Cryptocurrency
- Loans, credit and debt relief
- Cannabis, tobacco and alcohol
- Firearms
- Gambling
- Adult content
What happens
Before an alert goes out by text, it is checked. If it touches one of these topics, the whole alert goes to your email instead and your phone gets a short "check your email" text. It counts as 1 token. MemberAlertX group texts on these topics are refused.
Also not allowed
- Marketing or promotions, and texting anyone who didn't opt in themselves.
- Link shorteners (bit.ly and others); use the full link.
- The same text over and over ("all OK" every few minutes). Send when something changes, or a daily summary by email.
